Frothy Coffee

Every morning I look forward to my deliciously, frothy coffee.. which is pretty funny since I couldn't stand the taste of coffee until a year or so ago. This recipe is based off of Bulletproof Coffee. This coffee keeps me full in the morning and leaves me with no jitters because of the adaptogens.

Why all the fat? It is a common misconception (thanks to the terrible food industry) that fat is bad for you, when it is actually VITAL for health. High quality fats fuel your brain, and keep you full for longer. It may take time for your body to adjust to burning fat for fuel if you are eating a high carb diet.

  • Coffee - Preferably Organic - I use Purity, see below

  • Grass-fed Butter or Ghee (I use brown butter ghee)

  • MCT Oil - high C8 content is best, I use this one

  • Adaptogens

  • Ceylon Cinnamon

  • Grass-Fed Beef Gelatin or Collagen

Place everything in a high speed blender and blend on high until frothy. You can all use a hand frother and a tall mug. This coffee is completely customizable, you can just do butter and MCT, I like to at the gelatin for extra protein and froth!

It is also worth noting this coffee is meant to extend a natural fast, I drink it in the morning and wait to eat until I feel hungry. Start with a small amount(1/4tsp) and work your way up so you aren't running to the bathroom!

N O T E S-

Coffee is one of the most heavily chemical sprayed crops, this can lead to a plethora of problems. Opt for Organic, and Mold Free when possible. Purity Coffee is Organic, tested for mold, high in antioxidants and is sustainable. Get 10% off your first order HERE, or use code CARRICK during checkout.

Grass-Fed butter is much different that conventional butter. It is one of the best sources of conjugated linoleum acid(CLA) which boots your metabolism and helps prevent cancer and heart disease - According to Dr.Mark Hyman - I highly recommend his book Food! What the heck should I eat.

What are adaptogens? Adaptogens are herbs and mushrooms that help your hormones "adapt" to what they need filling the gaps, they support your natural system to help bring down or up whatever is necessary. Many adaptogens support different things, so I encourage doing your research. Some of my favorite include ashwaganda, reishi, lions mane, and cordecyps.

I encourage you to read more on Bulletproof's website.
